About Me

Hello, My name is Kurt Messick.  I grew up in Diamond Bar, California since I was 2 years old.  I went to Castle Rock Elementary, Chaparral Middle School, and Diamond Bar High School.  I stayed local for college and went back and forth between Cal Poly Pomona and Mt. San Antonio Junior College.  Basketball was a big part of my life and I was fortunate enough to play a little bit for each of the two colleges I went to.  I enjoy the outdoors and going hiking when I get the chance.

At one point in my life I felt like I was the go to guy with all technological questions, but recently, I feel that technology has moved way ahead of me.  I know the basics but have always been limited to my expertise in any one specific area of the computer.  I love technology and new gadgets, but I guess the price for these grown up toys became to much of an issue and I fell out of touch.  I can't wait to get caught back up to speed.

I am working on my Masters of Educational Multimedia to become a better teacher making the learning environment interactive and relevant.  As students are online more and interact with one another in a digital world, teaching in a style they can relate to would increase their participation and getting a better education.  I would like to create my own working website where students can find everything they need in one place.  Create and design my own worksheets, lesson plans, and other school related content to help other teachers as well as students with visually appealing design.  I would also like to look into a way to have a supplemental source of income out of this Masters program.
